Utah Immigration Stories: Connecting past to present through art and photography

During the 2020-2021 academic year, Youth Voices worked on a project that sought to research the visual history of immigrants of color in the state of Utah.

This project was financially sponsored by the 2021 Collections Engagement Grant from the Utah Museum of Fine Arts. Looking through the archives of both the Museum and the Marriott Library, to uncover the (lack) of representation of immigrants of color in our state.

This research generated five distinct works of art. Click on each one for a closer look and artist statements that describe the artwork.
